Unauthorized apartment access.
Nothing stolen. One paper unicorn added. The balance does not reassure me.
- Status
- Open. Locks reconsidered.

- Location
- My apartment. That’s enough detail.
Field notes
The latch was where I’d left it. The door opened more easily than it should have. Those two observations are now in separate columns.
No cash was missing. There wasn’t much to work with. The terminal, the photographs, and the bottle were all where I expected them.
On the table was a small folded paper unicorn. I don’t keep paper on that table. I certainly don’t improve it into animals.
I checked the window. Closed. I checked the service entrance. The building’s idea of security is a sign asking people to close it.
The visitor had enough time to leave something delicate. I’m trying to decide whether that’s a courtesy or a measurement.
I kept the figure. Throwing it away seemed like answering a question I hadn’t understood. For now, it faces the wall.
Redacted: Placement of the object
It was positioned where I’d see it from my usual chair. Whoever left it knew which chair I use. I haven’t included that in the building complaint.
